Salary is important, but your standard of living has a lot to do with location.
Researchers at MIT calculated the living wage for different cities in America. It means “the hourly rate that an individual in a household must earn to support his or herself and their family.”
Location | Living Salary |
---|---|
Parker, West Virginia | $82,388 |
Detroit, Michigan | $84,926 |
Columbus, Ohio | $85,176 |
Santa Fe, New Mexico | $90,188 |
New York, New York | $104,707 |
Boulder, Colorado | $104,915 |
Los Angeles, California | $109,865 |
San Diego, California | $114,212 |
